Important: Reston Runners please note....

The growing participation and success for many years of Reston Runner Teams in the annual JFK 50 miler means we need to make a few changes for 2009.  This year, we will of course welcome all of our LOCAL (you know who you are, you run with us on weekends, etc) members to join us on a Reston Runner Team.   Also, we welcome all runners who have participated with us at previous JFK 50 milers. You are "grandfathered" in.  For out of town runners, we will continue to offer our "mentoring" advice by email.

The Cumberland Valley Athletic Club (CVAC) will publish their entry procedures available on their website on July 1, 2009.

If they use the same procedures as previous years (mail in applications) and if you want to participate as a member of the Reston Runners Team, you must submit your completed application (we recommend getting them to us as soon as possible after CVAC makes applications available on 1 July, see the CVAC site for details and applications  Official JFK 50 Miler Website  ) with fee, to a Reston Runner Program Coordinator. If you are interested in participating as a member of our Reston Runners Team, contact our JFK Program Coordinators Anna Bradford and Jim Ashworth. (please contact us first, do NOT send them to the RR PO Box).  Team applications MUST be mailed in to CVAC together. (See the official JFK website for additional information on team categories, registration fees and deadlines, etc.)

When providing your registration fee to the Program Coordinators, please be sure to make the check out to CVAC;  Check the application details for the correct amount. It varies depending on age and time of submission. (Remember to circle the correct T-shirt size).

Bag Drops.  Another change in our participation this year; instead of coordinating crew members for each runner, we are planning to utilize a bag drop system.  Details to follow as we get closer to the event.
